Youth Strings - 2023 Spring

In order to register, you must first become a member of the Foothills Philharmonic Society.

Details:

Chamber music education for students, aged 5-18! We will be hosting a BEGINNER group for young musicians who have just started to learn their instruments (up to RCM level 2) and an INTERMEDIATE group for those who are approximately RCM level 3-5. Students will learn to play with others, making beautiful music together, as well as participate in Master Classes, sectional and leadership opportunities. We will tackle music from a variety of genres, including traditional baroque, popular and movie music, as well as fiddle/folk tunes. Concert date is scheduled for Sunday, May 28 - matinee. Rehearsals:

Note rehearsal times are split based on the group:

• Beginner - Saturdays, 9-10:15am
• Intermediate - Saturdays, 10:30am-12pm
• Note: No rehearsals on long weekends (Feb 18, April 8, May 20)

Important Dates:

• Concert: May 28 2pm (TBC) (ish); dress rehearsal May 27
• • Both groups will be performing.
